About this product

SALIC SIGNAL
Willow bark extract · a natural source of salicylates

Bring the science of plant signalling into your growing routine. Salic Signal offers willow bark extract for use with watering or as a foliar spray, giving you two practical ways to apply naturally occurring salicylates.

Why choose Salic Signal?

  • Willow bark extract: a natural source of compounds related to salicylic acid, one of the plant’s own signalling molecules.
  • Flexible application: use with watering or apply to the leaves, following the label dosage.
  • A connection to professional horticulture: based on willow bark extract from PlantoSys, with producer-reported root-development observations in greenhouse crops.

The science behind the choice

Salicylic acid helps plants coordinate immunity and stress responses. Researchers also study its role in priming, where an earlier treatment changes the response to a later challenge. Explore how plant signalling works and what priming means for a plant.

The response depends on dose, timing, crop and growing conditions. Research on salicylic acid does not automatically establish the same effects for willow bark extract or Salic Signal. Plant defence involves interacting signals, so stronger signalling is not always better; read Plant Defence Doesn’t Follow Simple Rules.

Experience from the producer

PlantoSys reports improved root development with its SalicylPure willow bark extract in professional strawberry, rose and cucumber cultivation. These practical observations provide context, not a guarantee of the same results with Salic Signal in your growing conditions.

How to use

  • With watering: add to your irrigation or watering can.
  • Foliar spray: dilute in water and spray the leaves.

Always follow the dosage on the label. More is not better: high concentrations of salicylates can slow growth.

Keep the pH of the solution at 4.5 or higher. Salic Signal can be combined with products in the pH range 5 to 9.
