Bringing professional plant science to the home grower

PlantPotential was created from a simple observation: some of the most advanced knowledge and technology in plant cultivation is already being used in professional horticulture — but much of it remains out of reach for home growers.

I wanted to change that.

As a biologist specialising in plants and plant resilience, I have spent years working within professional horticulture, helping growers understand how plants respond to their environment, nutrition and stress.

The Dutch horticultural sector is among the most advanced in the world. Growers work with sophisticated knowledge, technologies and cultivation strategies to improve plant performance, resilience and quality.

Yet much of that knowledge rarely reaches the home grower.

PlantPotential is about closing that gap.

From knowledge to better cultivation

Over the years, I have seen how often growers are willing to follow advice without necessarily understanding why it works.

That may work for a while. But in my experience, if you don't understand what you are doing and why you are doing it, you are unlikely to keep doing it consistently.

That is why knowledge is at the heart of PlantPotential.

I don't want to simply tell you what to give your plant.

I want you to understand what is happening inside the plant, why it matters and how a particular intervention can influence it.

Because once you understand the biology, you can make better decisions yourself.

Bringing high-end horticulture to home growers

The products and technologies behind PlantPotential are not based on trends or marketing hype.

Many of the underlying technologies already exist within professional horticulture. My goal is to make carefully selected, high-quality solutions available to a group that has traditionally had far less access to them: the motivated home grower.

The initial focus is on cannabis growers.

Not because cannabis is fundamentally different from other plants, but because its growers are often exceptionally motivated to understand their plants, experiment and learn.

And that curiosity is exactly what PlantPotential is built around.

Science before claims

PlantPotential is not about finding another bottle and giving it a convincing label.

It is about asking better questions:

• What does the plant actually need?
• What biological process are we trying to influence?
• What does the scientific evidence tell us?
• And does the product make sense from a plant biology perspective?

Where possible, I want the science behind a product to be understandable, transparent and accessible.

There is enough hype in the plant market already.

I believe growers deserve products with a clear purpose, a sound scientific basis and an honest explanation of what they can — and cannot — do.

To make advanced plant science and high-end horticultural solutions accessible to the home grower — and to give growers the knowledge to understand and use them properly.

Ultimately, PlantPotential is about more than selling products.

It is about helping people develop a better understanding of their plants.

Because the goal should not be to make the grower dependent on a recipe.
